KING ONEIL II. closed fast on the inside and, saving ground entering the stretch, made a determined effort at the furlong pole, but was not good enough. BARBARY BlSH began slowly, but closed fast and outgaraed GALATIA in the final strides. The latter followed the early pace closly, but quit. SILVER THREADS was outrun in the first part, but gained steadily on the second turn of the field and, closing with a rush under punishment, outgamed HUSKY in the final strides. The latter, rated along under restraint, stumbled at several of his fences and, bearing out badly through the final quarter, finished wide. SOUTH TIPP went well and had no excuse. FLYING SCOTCHMAN had no excuse. SI PERLETTB drew away into an easy lead and saved ground throughout, but hung in the final seventy yards. TUB VINTNER showed a good effort and had no excuse. VOLTAIC came with a rush next the inner rail through the stretch. AGA KIIA.N, away well, was outrun, but came to the outside entering the stretch and closed with a rush. He was worked out a mile in 1:39%. LANIUS went well throughout. KNIGHT OF GREENANE was rushed into the lead at the eighth fence, but fell at the ninth. BOATMAN fell at the seventh fence. SIRF lost his rider at the first jump.
