SETBACK FOR THE JANITOR Disqualified After Finishing Sec ¬ ond in Fourth at Latonia Jockey I Dubois Held to It la me anil Sus ¬ pended for Ten Bays Jockey Skyrm Also Puriishcd LATONIA Ky June 11 A disqualifica ¬ tion the first of the current meeting proved the outstanding incident of todays racing here The setback marked the fourth race which brought out ten ordinary threeyear olds for a distance of a mile and seventy yards The action of the stewards after Resourceful The Janitor and Billy Witt had finished in the first three places as men ¬ tioned put The Janitor last Billy Witt was moved up to second place and Finnster which finished fourth was awarded third thirdThe The quick and proper action of the offi ¬ cials was brought about by jockey D Dubois permitting his mount The Janitor to bear over sharply eighty yards out and impede both Billy Witt and Finnster So forceful was the impact of The Janitor bearing over that Billy Witt only narrowly escaped going down and jockey E Legere had to pull Finnster up sharply sharplyWhile While the three horses clustered Resource ¬ ful rushed by on the outside to score by a wide margin from The Janitor which con ¬ tinued on after reducing the chances of those he bothered to finish in second place placeThe The winner missed the interference as Ihe result of her being forced to race very wide from a slow beginning brought about by Billy Witt knocking her out of stride with the poor start startAfter After altering the finish the stewards sus ¬ pended jockey Dubois for ten days and jockey M Skyrm who created a jam at the club hourse turn with his mount Prickly Heat was set down for a like period periodThe The disqualification was received with ap ¬ plause the foul being of such a glaring character and in full view of the entire patronage that many of the large Friday assemblage freely forecasted the moving back of The Janitor JanitorIn In the way of a feature the Park Hills Purse governed by allowance conditions and staged over the threequarters of a mile route filled the bill Among the eight brought to the starting gate was Mose Goldblatts shifty and speedy Teak and she led her foes for the entire journey com ¬ pleting in the good time of 1 11 It was Super Frank from the Audley Farm Stable that took second place one and onehalf lengths behind the victress and a nose in front of Rural Route RouteMally Mally Jane triumphed in an exciting strug ¬ gle to wrest the lead from several of her rivals in the back stretch and there after was never in danger to win the opening dash of threequarters It required much manipu ¬ lation for Jimmy McCoy to get Belle of Eliza bethtown up through the field to snatch sec ¬ ond place fr iom Blue Granite which finished fast to be third thirdLi Li Gentrys Clonaslee unseated the ap ¬ prentice Dubois twice at the barrier finally beat the start and led the entire three quarters to win the second race She was engaged by Omnia on which L Craver had the mount but the latter tired near the end under a weak ride Third place fell fo Massillon which raced prominently all the way Continued on twentieth j ase SETBACK FOR THE JANITOR Continued from first pace G W Parrishs Cousin Lute moved out of the nonwinners division with the running of the third race in which she came from last place to score by a considerable margin from Apopka with Little Borah third The winner was well ridden by S Griffin and her win was popular wjth th form players playersThe The colors of J N Camden were carried to victory by his twoyearold Noreaster which won out from Two Sixty Tim Gleason and nine more in the sixth race There was a jam immediately after the start reducing the chances of many among which was Phil Foto the favorite Leaving the back stretch Busy Day running in a forward position elected to run out and this forced numerous runners out and back backA A high wind which preceded a shower completely enveloped the field in dust after tho first quarter of a mile in the final race and it was not until well into the stretch that the racers returned to view Saar was an easy winner over the Leopard witli Helen Carter third Widgeon the early leader1 ran out coming to the stretch
