COEUR DE LION IN FRONT Accounts for Main Race at Omaha OmahaUnder Under Jockey T Bu ells ellsGood Good Ride OMAHA Neb June 11 R F Carmans Coeur de Lion well ridden by jockey T Buell won the fifth and feature race at AkSarBen field this afternoon Rough and Ready was second and Potvo the favorite was third The winner was never far from the leaders and when his rider called upon him at the stretch turn he responded gamely and taking command drew into a good lead which he held Polvo was backed heavily but failed to cut much figure in the running although he finished well wellThe The weather was very warm but a large crowd was in attendance The majority of the gathering were ladies as this was ladies day The track while not at its best was in quite good condition conditionThe The running of the first race brought about a great stretch battle with five horses taking part After the field had turned for home they were strung across the track and were running head and head but End Man and Brown Dick dropped back in the last fifty yards and My Gracie came on to win by a nose from Fleer while Pickens was a close third Jockey E Taylor rode a fine race on the winner winnerRegular Regular Girl an old Omaha favorite won the second rack from the largest band of the afternoon She was always within strik ¬ ing distance of the leaders and came strongly in the stretch to overtake Winning Bird The latter was second and Danie third Antilles a long shot took the third race by making a strong stretch run Dicks Setli set the early pace with the favored Crescent in close attendance but they tired in the last quarter and the winner came on to score an easy victory Crescent lasted to be second and Cancellation was a fast going third thirdMahaley Mahaley led her rivals all the way in the fourth She was quickest to begin and soon opened up a comfortable lead which she held The real battle was between Porter Ella and Voorflor for second place and the former got by only after a hard drive
