DOUBLE ATTRACTIONS Two Feature Races Offered at Fairmount Park Princess Pan and Shasta Bullet the Winners Increased Spec ¬ ulation With Larger Crowd COLLINSVILLE 111 June 11 The Herald Purse for threeyearolds and over and the St Clair Country Club Purse for twoyear olds were the feature offerings of an ordi ¬ nary card at Fairmount Park this afternoon The former was won by the Keeneland Studs Princess Pan and the latter went to Shasta Bullet a homebred colt owned by II D Brown BrownShasta Shasta Bullets victory was the most pro ¬ nounced of the afternoon for he took the measure of Candy Light a pronounced fa ¬ vorite Shasta Bullet was aided materially by the good start he had and also Elstons superior ride for he outgeneraled and out ¬ rode Pool all during the race He saved a considerable amount of ground by staying close to the inner rail whereas Pool rode his mount wide entailing a loss of ground for her Shasta Bullet had a lengths ad ¬ vantage at the finish Tempter an outsider finished in third place leading home the weakly ridden Old Lace EASY FOR PRINCESS PAW PAWPrincess Princess Pans success was registered with ease She was benefited by her light impost and though away slowly raced with great speed to wear down Chief Uncas before threeeighths and held the race safe all during the stretch Blockhead hard urged just managed to wear down Col Board for third place placeTodays Todays terrific heat had no material effect on racing patrons in this section and an increase in attendance was again noted The same applied in the matter of volume of play The racing was again of the spirited variety with several finishes on the hairline order Most of tho winners came in for solid sup ¬ port even Realist the longest priced winner of the afternoon afternoonThe The opener brought one of the closest finishes of the meeting when Realist and Colonel Schooler both outsiders finished noses apart Realist just holding on long enough to get the decision Coyne the fa ¬ vorite finished in third place Kingsclere was the early leader followed by Coyne but Kingsclere gave way readily when he reached the stretch and Coyne also tired Realist and Colonel Schooler began fighting it out strenuously all during the last sixteenth At a longer distance Colonel Schooler wouM have won He showed a decidedly improved performance over his last start startANOTHER ANOTHER FOR SAXDAIIVOOD SAXDAIIVOODSandalwood Sandalwood which won in his last start scored again commandingly when he beat home a fairly good band that started in the second race He flashed by Shining Gold the early leader with ease after the first quarter and won as his rider pleased all during the stretch Shining Gold held to second place to the end Garr and Senor had a sharp tilt for third place which the former got Chopsticks and Burkes Boy were the disapiwintments in the nice Both retired when the stretch was reached reachedC C W Moore entered the winning ranks when his Neatness was home in advance in a tight fit with Brown Ijoaf Neatness mar ¬ gin of victory was a short head It Mas a lucky score for her as Brown Loaf would have reversed the decision with her but for being raced wide at the stretch turn Billy Mann after racing proininhiy from the start tired in the stretch bu was good enough to land in third pIac i utstayin Equinox f r the shorter portion of the purse purseH H G Bedwells Foretell furnished a sur ¬ prise when he beat out the heavily backed Texas He wore her down in tho last six ¬ teenth and was going away fast at the end It marked the first victory that the Bedwell colors had registered here Colonel Winu finished in third place
