EASY FOR MAX BRICK ♦ Overwhelming Favorite in Main Race Scores Impressively. ♦ Scotland Forever, Delphi and Babbling Among the Unexpected Victors at Aurora. ♦ ATRKUA. 111.. Juno IC— The program at Exposition Park this afternoon carried i.o outstanding feature and the most Important race was the fourth and brought together eight good sprinters at three-quarters. The race was named for the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Company, now playing successfully at oi f Chicagos leading theatres, and the ■winner was presented with a floral design following the running of the race, the wreath lying; donated by the company. Max Brick, an overwhelming favorite, took the measure of his opponents in a hollow fashion after racing dose up to the stretch and easily passing Miss Jennie, the early leader, an eighth out and came away decisively in the last eighth to win going away. Miss Jennie saved second after having set a fast pace to the stretch, which left her with little reserve when Max Brick made his challenge. Norcross gained third place after racing close up all the way. but raced wide into the Stretch, forcing him to do his best to outstay Helen T. near the end. . Cool weather again prevailed with lowering skies, hut this did not curtail the attendance to any noticeable degree and a large crowd was on hand to witness t.ie running of the widweek program. The racing was up to the usual high standard of quality which has existed at this meeting. MF.IMM.INO SETH GAMELY. Meddling eleth furnished one of his best races in the initial offering and after running in close quarters the first half of the way luckily found an opening on the inside when straightened out in the stretch and, withstanding a hard drive well, gamely outstayed Btennerhassett to register a hard earned victory. Blennerhassctt was prominent at all Stages and was pressing the leader closely in the final strides. Neptune gained third place after a game effort. Queen Bess threatened seriously in this race, coming around the leaders fast entering the stretch. but tired and dropped bac-K again in the final sixteenth Scotland Forever proved a surprise in annexing tin- following race and proved to be much the best, winning with much in reserve though hard ridden in the closing strides in order to overhaul the leader in the last few-yards. Thi- winner was outrun for most of the way and as the field was turning into the home stretch was racing on the outside of the others in fifth place. Kosman. after racing close up all the way. gained the lead a sixteenth out and appeared a sun- winner, but W. Anih-rson on Scotland Forever had roused his monat into closing with a splendid hurst of spoed and rapidly overhauling the leaders the winner tirew riff near the end and was going away fast. Kosman saved second place easily with Guy Clayton, the early pacemaker, lasting to save third. Racket was another to take a prominent part bore, hut gave way in the final drive after showing in front for a brief period in the stretch when Cuy Clayton tired. CIOSEI.Y CONTESTED STRlCC l.K. The third race, a condition dash for two-year-olds, provided an interesting and closely contested straggle fr in the start to the final strides. .Tosic Hartman, lucky at the start. raced into a quick had and set a fist pace, closely followed ldna Mitchell and McDon-ougb. The pace was too much for Hdna Mitchell, and she began to drop back approaching the turn out of the hack Stretch "McDunongh. racing close behind the latter. then moved to the leader with a rush and. passing her midway of the home stretch, continued on gamely to a handy victory. Josie Hartman also finished going very w.-II and secured second place easily. The Wire gained third place, hut barely lasted when Bdna Mit. hell had something left at the finish and came again the closing Strides, The Midway Btabtea Delphi, overlooked in the betting, provided a hig surprise and accounted for the fifth event at a mile and twenty yards.
