PIRATE GOLD VICTORIOUS Beats Brilliant by .N arrow Margin in Omaha Chamber of Commerce Handicap. OMAHA, Neb., June 16.— Pirate Gold won the Omaha Chamber of Commerce Handicap from a small but classy band of horses at 1 Ak-Sar-Ben field today. Brilliant was second and Captain Donan third while Lord Julian, the favorite/ finished unplaced.. The latter set the pace to the half mile ground and then faltered and was passed by Pirate Gold and Brilliant. This pair staged a great I battle for the remainder of the journey and j the winner only got the decision by a nose. A large week day crowd was on hand to witness the sport and the races were run over a good track. Canny Lady won the first race after a hard stretch battle with Wahkeena and Mul-hull. The winner was in front all the way and held on with rare courage when challenged. Kliza Brown was winner of the second and I paid a long price. She was well ridden by | the diminutive apprentice W. Imig and completed a double for him, he having piloted i Canny Ijady in the first race. Kliza Brown ■ moved up to the leaders at the stretch turn and passing them drew away into a comfortable lead. Cancellation was second and Fleer, the favorite, was third. Belle H. ran away with the third race. She held a small early lead but lengthened it after going a quarter and at the end wan four lengths in advance of her rivals. Rock of Aires finished fast to be second and Uncle Seth was third. . « .
