MEDDLING SETH was close up from th» start, responded well when ailed on at the head of the stretch and withstood a hard drive to outfinish BLENNKRHASSETT. The latter was going fast at the end. NEPTUNE was forced to nee wide on the turns, but ran a good race and finished gamely. QUEEN BESS showed early speed, hot was cut off and forced back in the stretch. MISS AJI dosed a big gap. MelNTOSH worked his way up to the leaders in the first half, but lost ground in the stretch. P. T. BARM M showed the most early speed, but soon quit. SCOTLAND FOREVER was badly outrun to the stretch, then closed a gap with a rush through the final eight and. rapidly passing ttie leaders, was going away at the end. KOSMAN raced prominently all "the way and outstayed OUT CLAYTON. The latter began quickly and set the pace to the stretch, then tired. ROCKET followed the early leader closely and raced into the lead, but gave way when put to a drive. BATTLE SHOT was forced wide on all the turns and raced well. DOUBLE T. showed early speed, but tired in the last quarter. TANGERINE and LITTLE SMOKE were far back all the way. McDONOUGH. close up from the start, passed JOSIE HARTMAN midway of the home stretch and held the latter safe to the end. JOSIE HARTMAN began quickly and set a fast pace to the last eighth, but could not withstand the winner. THE WIRE, by racing wide into the stretch, lost much ground, but finished well. MAX BRICK was shuffled back in the first quarter, but gained steadily afterwards and. finding an opening on the inside in the stretch, passed MISS JENNIE and was going away at the end. The latter showed the most speed to midway of the home stretch, but tired and could not withstand the winners challenge. NORCROSS raced close up. hut raced wide into the stretch, allowing HELEN T. to head him, but came swiftly near the end to take third place. HELEN T. ran a good race. DELPHI took the lead at once and set the pace for the first quarter, was then passed by ROB ROY and appeared beaten in the stretch, but. finishing gamely, came again and outstayed HAWK EYE. The latter gained steudily and finished well. GENTLY was far back in the early running, but saving ground where possible, got up near the end for third place. ROB ROY showed much early speed and took the lead in the first half, hut raced wide into the stretch and tired. POISON liegan slowly as usual and closed a gap.
