PURE DEE IMPRESSIVELY Accounts for Cuyahoga Falls Claiming Purse at Akron Wednesday. AKRON. Ohio.. May 11— A. B. Jessops Pure Dee accounted for the Cuyahoga Falls Claiming Purse, the sixth race, which attracted the best field at Northampton Park this afternoon. He took command after going half the distance, but had to be hustled along in the final stages to stall off the fast-finishing West Point. Arrow Hawk sjived third place. Billiken was a victim cf i oor riding and cut little figt:re in the running. Autumn-like weather prevailed. The sky was overcast and at intervals light showers fell, but failed to affect the going. A crowd of the usual mid-week day proportions was on hand to witness the sport. Displaying the most speed throughout. The Maid had command of the situation at all stages of the initial dash. Klla Rufus was best of the others. After following closely the pace set by Black Monkey to the stretch in the second race. Pippin gradually forced his way into the lead and won his maiden victory. Faber, which commenced in front, finished decidedly lame. Steadily improving his position. Square Jack took command, after rounditig the far turn in the third race, and held his oppo-ni ate safe in the stretch.- Kelneth outstayed Suar Loaf for the second place. Lib -rty National raced within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch head in the fourth race, then moved to the front and he:d his company safe during the final eighth. Air Mail outgamed Ted for the sec-! oad place. At no stage of the fifth race did Wine Jug have the result in s-rious doubt. Happy Hobo closed with a tremendous dash next to the inner rail in the stretch to snatch second pace from White Caps in the final strides. Dean H., the faorite, tired badly. -A
