AURORA, 111., April !».— Exposition Park was a dreary, d?solate place Easter Sunday. Cold weather and snow flurries kept away i visitors and the trainers at the track remained indoors. The "Special" from Tijuana reached here Saturday afternoon, bringing the horses of Xeal and Roberts, R. Z. Jenkins, Tom Creeelius. Bert John, Joe Cooper, L. T. Whitehill, H. C. McConnell, L. O. Lee, W. C. Morris. A. .1. Samsone and B. Creech. Crystal Pennant, the Coffroth Handicap winner, which was expected on the "Special," was not included in the shipment. According to horsemen on the train, he had been left at Tijuana and will not be transferred here until about April 20. Jockey Tommy Luther, who rode Crystal Permant to victory in the Coffroth, arrived on the "Special" and went direct to his home in Millington, 111., for a short vacation before reporting at Aurora. Luther was the leading rider at Tijuana. The Jenkins band numbered nine, Xeal and Roberts had eight. Creech brought ten and the McConnell establishment was made up of twelve. Several horses belonging to R. Levine of Chicago were also on the train. The shipment was in charge of Eddie Thomas, assistant to starter Harry Morrissey. Thomas Shannon, who trains the horses for the Sanola Stock Farm, and W. Cay.-ood were arrivals from Xew Orleans. Caywood brought Open Hand, Just Bean and a two-year-old. Shannons band comprised Pigeon Wing II., Sun Lotus, Sun Altos, Serajevo, Bird Behave, Colored Servant, Reighthorne and a two-year-old. Shannon announced that Pigeon Wing II. and Reighthorne would be turned out until next fall. Several more carloads of horses are expected from Tijuana about April IB. • •mong the jockeys here, who will ride during the Aurora meeting, are E. Legere, II. West. W. Stamper, C. E. Allen, R. Crees, R. kloser and S. 1 licks.
