At Bowie One Esst Det — VIOLADO — In the First Race. , I | ! I I ] ; ! The Parkway Pone, a test of a mile and seventy yards, is the chief offering on the Bowie card today. A fairly good band is to hook up here antl some fine sport should be the outcome. The secondary attraction is the Lcncta Lane Purse, engaging three-year-old fillies exclusively and over the ive and a half furlcn;s tii. tanee. This race may prove to be the best of the day, for the contestants are evenly matched and are a speedy band, generally speaking. The clnaper grade oC performers are to show their wares in the remaining races, all but the first on the program, which is for two-year-old maidens, being of the claiming variety. viola no— if: w black— abington. VIOLADO, wli.cli races for the Nevada Stock Farm, appears all over the best of the maiden jtueniles which are to match strides in the initial offering. The Volte, colt finished behind his stable mate Voltear, when the latter set a new track record, and he only has to race in the same manner today to be home the easiest winner of the day. LEW BLACK, a Whitney starter, is tabbed for second place. tie should improve over his firct race. ABINGTON is taken for third for vant of something better. C.IRASOL— .JIM BULL— HONEYCO. A cheap bantl is to make the running in the second nundx_r, a dash of six and a half furlongs. We are selecting HRASOL to prove best here, for h has been seen in much better comiiaiiy than he meets today and his workouts indicate that he is ready for a winning effort at the first asking. JIM BELL turned i:i a good race in his only start at Havana before being put on the shelf. lie is reported fit again and should furnish the most opi»r;sltion today. HONEY-CO, on l»ert races, appears to hold a slight edge on the others for the short end of the coin. J.AWY MARIE— TESTER— TAMIAMI TRIAL. The Rodwell trained LADY MARIE was such an eary winner of her last start that it is hard to figure how she is going to be beaten today, providing she puts forth the same efforts. She was home with plenty to spare, landing eight lengths in front of her nearest opponent. While she is meeting slightly better company today, a repetition of her last start should make her a hard one to beat nevertheless. TESTER turned in a winning race his last time out. and he rates as the re-al danger in this field. TAMIAMI TRAIL appears to be the best of the otliers. ELOISE— NOISE— ANGRY MOOD. The New Orleans performer ELOISE is tabbed to land in front of the three-year-old fillies, which are to contest in the Leneta Lane Purse. She was winner over some real good ones in some of her races at the Crescent City, and she only has to go in her best style today to prove best. NOISE, which will be making her first start of the year, may be the one to cause ELOISE the most trouble. The Audley Farm Stable filly was a frequent winner last year and she has been training in a most satisfactory manner. ANGRY MOOD has a habit of winning wncn least expected and, for that reason, is given the call over SKYLIGHT, the Wintney filly which raced so impressively last time out. THE FRESHMAN— CHAIRMAN-HONEST JOHN. THE FRESHMAN landed in third place in both of hi3 starts here to date and, with weight off today, should be home in front of the field he is n eeting in the Parkway Purse. He was pitted against good company in his two previous starts and raced in a manner to suggest that he may be a hard one to down today. CHAIRMAN, from the EL G. Bedwell Stable, looms as the most dangerous opponent. His last start was epuite an improvement over his first time out, and he may be expected to improve some over his last race. HONEST JOHN, making his first start of the year, only has to race back to his morning trials to land some part of the purse. BLIE FLAG— ELEVATE— HOI-TAN. The W. J. Salmon racer BLCE FLAG is given the preference in the sixth offering, over the mile and seventy yards distance. He finished a neck behind Trojis in his last start and only lias to repert that effort today to beat this field with ease. ELEVATE finished in back of Trojis and BLUE FLAG in the same race and may be expected to improve some over that performance. ROI-TAN is taken for third for want of something better. He raced fairly well over the Maryland tracks last fall, however, and only lias to go in the same style today to prove a contender. MAXIE— HOI POLLOI— GAY PARISIAN. MAN IE gave Scotland Forever some trouble in their last meeting, the former landing in second place after putting up a good race throughout. With Scotland Forever out of the way today we believe tbe Rice gelding is good enough to lead the field over the wire in the concluding dash on the card. HOI POLLOI finished behind MANIE in the same race told of above and, with weight off today, should be able to land closest to the latter again. GAY PARISIAN only has to turn in his usual effort to hold the others safe for the short end of the coin.
