Tie stable of John Shank, president of the Hawthorne track, was recently enlarged by the acquisition o£ the four-year-old Comrade. • He has, in addition, the three-year-olds Ulla R„ a filly by Pebbles— X. ra Mc-Kenna, together with three t wn-year-olds, . Richard J. and Pat Xash are among Chicago . sportsmen who have gone into breeding [ horses, having purchased a farm on the • northwest side. They have the stallion i Ken Follet and are said to be the principal 1 owners of the Valley Lake Stable, trained by .!. i:. Partridge.
