AMEND PARI-MUTUEL RULE Kentucky Racing Commission Makes Change — Applications for Licenses Acted Upon. LEXINGTON, Ky.. April 21.- The Kentucky State Racing Commission meeting here this morning eliminated the final obstacle before the meeting that opened this afternoon when it passed upon the report of the license committee. The report, which advised the disapproval of the applications of five jockeys and the holding up of additional trainers and jockeys applications for further investigation, and fo- want -of identification, was approved as a whole by the racing commission. Previous to consideration of the license committee report the. commission announced that Lewis A. Lentz of St. Matthews, Ky., had been appointed official telegraph censor. The report that Lentz appointment wa recommended by Gov. Flem D. Sampson could not be verified, yet it went undenied. The amendment to Rule 57 of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, as introduced at the previous meeting of the board, was approved and ordered incorporated ir the rules. It deals with the percentage to be taken by the racing association-: from the pari-muteul pooTs and, as amended, reads as follows : "The commission deducted by the associations from said pari-mutuel pools shall be as follows : "At tracks located in a city of Kentucky with a population in excess of 200,000, or within ten miles of the corporate limits of any city of said population, whether such city be in Kentucky or in an adjoining state, the deduction from the said pari-mutuel pools shall be 6i per cent of the gross amount of money handled and the breaks to the penny. "At tracks located in a city of Kentucky of less t!an 150,000 population, and not within ten miles of the corporate limits of any city in Kentucky cr an adjoining state with a population in excess of 150,000, the deduction from said pari-mutuel pools shall be 10 per cent of the gross amount of money handled and the breaks to the penny." Formal application for reinstatement by any one under suspicion was not received by the board, thus crushing the report that several riders under official ban intended to apply for reinstatement. The entire membership of the commission, composed of Polk Laffoon, chairman ; S. S. Combs, G. B. Senff. W. I. Kohn and C. Mid-dleton, was present, and the report of the license committee was tendered the body by T. C. Bradley and S. S. Nuckols. who, with C. F. Price, made up the license board. Disposition of the license applications was as follows : Trainers application held up for identification or further consideration : Vincent Adams, John Butler, T. J. Cameron. Alfred J. Call. George Goud. J. E. Hankins, Edward Huenefeld, James Hanley, J. E. Jenkins, Mosby Jordan. Arthur F. Lloyd, Harry B. Niehaus, G. F. Taylor, R. H. We. ielman, Mike Kavanagh a:- B. R. Wash. Apprentice applications held up for filing of contracts : David Bryant, Bulkley Hodge-son, C. I. May, J. Chirch, George A. Rose, Floyd Smock and Gregory White. Jockeys applications held up for further consideration : C. Yates and W. L. Smith. Jockeys applications disapproved : Clarence Dishmon, Strother Griffin, Harry Garner, Willie Pool. John J. Robbins. .
