i I | I I I I ONE CHAMPION, ONE DUFFER On the turf it is not unusual to see one horse a champion, and its brother a duffer. It is often the same at the stud. A case in point is that of Bachelors Hope, which died in Ireland recenly. He was twenty years old at the time, and was a full brother to that successful sire Bachelors Double. Bachelors Hope could race well, his wins including the Kempton Park Jubilee, but, though he had a long stud career, the winnings of his progeny did not exceed 5,000 up to the time of his death.
