, ■ t A Q i LEXINGTON TURF NOTES | ; ¥ s LEXINGTON, Ky., April 28. J. B. Respess, who came over yesterday from Louisville to confer with L. Gentry, who has some of the formers horses here, returned to the Falls City this morning. Schooling of two-year-olds and older horses was resumed today after a day of adverse track conditions. The resumption of this phase of training found the barrier well patronized. W. Baumgartner and W. E. Bitterman are shipping to Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday two cars of horses that will be campaigned during the coming meeting there. Jockey Jack Berry was taken ill this morning and was forced to cancel several engagements of the afternoon. J. W. Parrish, of Midway, whoses horses : are in training at Churchill Downs, was a visitor. He reports that Rolled Stocking is training well and probably will make his first start of the year in the Clark Handicap. Harry Payne Whitney, noted sportsman, ■ after a visit of severa days at his nearby farm, departed today for the East. The stewards lost no time in taking cognizance of jockey W. Smiths rough riding in the opening race and suspended the rider for the remainder of the meeting for the offense. Brownell Berryma:- and J. J. Grady, who served as stewards at Raceland last year, today recommend to the Kentucky State Racing Commission that the suspension of jockey N. J. Barnes, incurred during the Raceland meeting last summer, be terminated. « .
