TO IMPROVE HAWTHORNE LEXINGTON, Ky., April 28.— John C, Shank, president of the Business Mens Racing Association, which operates the Hawthorne track, came from Chiacgo for the days racing. During a discussion of the outlook for the coming Chicago racing season, Mr. Shank expressed himself as highly confident that the coming meetings will not only prove more successful than the brilliant ones of last year, but among the best of the year anywhere. He announced that the making over of the Hawthorne plant is nearing completion and that the numerous improvements, installed at a cost of approximately 00,000, will establish Hawthorne as one of the finest and most complete in the country. He departed tonight for Chicago.
