DARK EAGLES FINE WORK LEXINGTON. Ky , April 2S— R. S. Clarks Dark Eagle turned in the best work of the Derby candidates here this morning when he worked a mile in 1 : 4 1 4 r. handily. The track was in a slow condition and horsemen regarded it as one of the best spring trials here. The colt was full of run and went along at an even pace under good rating for the full distance. R. L. Bakers Col. Bob worked fiv-eighths ; in 1 :06 handily. He is cxpecteu to make his initial start of the season on Monday.
