J g c 1 I fe a 3 e J t * I I 1 1 1 1 f ; DEATH OF DR. R. W. McCULLY NEW YORK, N. Y., May 7.— A pall of gloom descended over Jamaica yesterday when word reached the track of the death of Dr. R. W. McCully at his home at 22 East Thirty-sixth Street, from diabetes. Doctor McCully was conceded the leader of his chosen profession by horsemen and his death was a severe blow. Doctor McCully hailed from London, Ont., and for the past twenty-five years had been associated with racing in New York and Maryland. Recently he was appointed veterinarian to represent the stewards on New York tracks. The sudden death of Mrs. McCully during the Christmas season last year was a severe blow to him and later, while en route from New York to Hot Springs, he suffered a broken leg in a train wreck near St. Louis. Upon his return to New York he entered Roosevelt Hospital for an operation, and it was believed that he had fully recoveiid. He was removed to his home recently and suffered relapses from which he failed to recover. Funeral arrangements have not been announced. #_ , —
