i ; i i ■ w t NEW YORK TURF NOTES f NEW YORK, N. Y., May 7. The entry of the horse Fortunate Face has been ordered refused for the remainder of the meeting. Jockey Pascuma was suspended Friday by the stewards for three days for rough riding. Dick Thompson has arrived at Belmont Park with thirty-five of the E. R. Bradley horses, wt.ich he will canrpagin over the New York circuit. George Odom reported that almost every two-year-old in his stable is coughing. S. Pingree, owner of the Flying Horse Stable and a prominent sportsman of Boston, was a recent arrival. He is confident that the meeting to be held at Brookline during the summer will be bigger than any previously held. Jefferson Livingston, just back from California, put in his first appearance of the meeting and promises to race about New York all through the season. Frank Hackett, agent for the Rancocas Stable, made his reappearance following a severe attack of la grippe. J. W. Bean, prominent Washington sportsman, was an arrival today. Frank Baccioco, leader of the ring during the Havana meeting, was another arrival today. Oeorge Sampler was an arrival and plans to remain for the season. Jockeys M. Garner, L. Fator, G. Ellis and Frank Coltiletti reported on the ailing list today and canceled their engagements. Jockey R. Ayraud was suspended for the remainder of the meeting by Mars Cassidy for disobedience at the post. J. McNamara claimed Paige out of the third race from the Log Cabin Stud for ,400. Dick Thompson, who recently arrived from Kentucky with the K. R. Bradley Stable, made his first appearance of the season. He expects four more steeplechasers from Baltimore, which will race in the name of Miss Peggie B. Bailey.
