JIM BEAN, away well, rushed into the lead shortly after the start, then set a good pace, saved ground when entering the stretch and out finished MR. KIRKWOOD in the final drive. The latter improved his position steadily and came with a rush through the stretch. ROMP was close up all the way and raced well to the end. BONV1EW finished gamely. BIRD OF PREY began in a tangle, then was rushed up fast on the inside and tired. STANDARD BEARER raced gamely all the way. REPRISAL was forced wide when entering the stretch. CONDE tired badly at the end.
