FAIRWAY STAKE WINNER SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. NEWMARKET, England, May 16.— Fairway, Lord Derbys three-year-old colt by Phalaris — Scapa Flow, won the Newmarket Stakes, at a mile and a quarter, here today from the Duke of Portlands The Wheedler by two lengths. Three lengths farther back, Lord Lonsdales Ladore was third. There were thirteen starters. Fairway was the even money favorite.
