AT POST— 1 minute. Start good and slow. Won driving: second and third the same. VALENTINO, close up from the start, raced SHIRAZ into defeat and outfinished LANYARD in tho final drive. The latter improved his position steadily and finished fast. HARASS was far back to the far turn, then closed a big gap on the outside and finished well. HIGHWAYMAN was close up all the way and ran a good race. ACCOUNT had no mishaps and quit badly. ALITA ALLEN finished with a rush. Won easily; second and third driving. SUN BEAU was saved close up to the last turn, then moved up rapidly on the outside after entering the stretch and, taking the lead, won going away. ST. HENELL set a good pace to the stretch and raced well to the end. SOCIAL MUG improved his position steadily and finished fast. CROYPEN dwelt at the start and, being much used in racing to the leaders, tired. FLYACROSS saved ground on the last turn. BALKO was taken back while rounding the far turn and saved to the stretch, then moved up rapidly when called on and was cut off after entering the stretch, but passed INDIAN SCOUT and was going away at the end. INDIAN SCOUT showed the most speed from the start, raced KNAPSACK into defeat and finished well. ALGERNON finished with a rush. KNAPSACK tired badly in the final sixteenth.
