TRAPPY drew away into an easy early lead and was never seriously threatened. DENNY COONEY Improved his position steadily and easily disposed of the remainder in the final eighth. CUPIDS DART dropped out of contention right after the start, but came fast and closed a big gap gamely during the last quarter and outgamed LENA M. The latter showed a fair effort. BILLY K. closed with a brilliant rush on the outside through the stretch and, overhauling the tiring leaders, won going away. RANCH LASS showed a good effort and held the others safe in the closing stages. ROCKY WAY steadily improved his position and finished well. ROCK TRAP tired after showing a burst of speed for five-eighths. DEPOSITION tired near the end after going a good half mile. RED SCOT was crowded back while rounding the far turn. OREGON FIR closed a big gap in the last half after getting away slowly. WAR HAWK was always outrun WAR INSTIGATOR and SUN PERSIAN tired badly after showing earlv speed.
