ANGEL BRIGnT moved up steadily throughout and, continuing gamely In the stretch, wore down the leaders and won drawing clear. THISTLE JOHN began fast and raced prominently from the start and held on well near the end. TOP KICK was away poorly, but saved much ground during the entire race and was up in the last stride stride for third place. TOLTEC, away well, raced prominently for the entire way. WOOD RIVER suffered from interference soon after the start and closed a good gap. MELTELIAN was taken back sharply after the start and was given a listless ride throughout. REDCLIFFE got away quickly and. showing the most speed, raced Into a good lead in the first half and held the others safe during the final eighth. SUN SWEEPER was well up during the entire race, but had to be hard urged in the last sixteenth. THE RUNT had to overcome interference in the first half mile, but finished gamely. MERIWICK showed a good effort and closed a good gap in the last quarter. FLYING TORCH was taken completely out of it and raced wide during the last quarter. WILL BANK raced well. MASCARA raced under restraint in the early stages and, moving into the lead with a rush whea approaching the stretch turn, held the others safe during the final eighth. ALABAMA BOUND moved up steadily and saved considerable ground during the stretch racing. FRANK HAWLEY was under stout restraint and saved much ground in the first half mile, but was raced wide at the stretch turn and tired slightly near the end. OCEAN CURRENT closed a good gap during the last quarter and was going gamely at the end. SAAR had no mishaps. NORTH BREEZE showed a dull effort. MAGIO LIGHT tired badly after going a half. ELIZABETH BOLLA showed early speed and held on fairly well in the stretch. CORBEAU came from far back in the last quarter. LIEUT. RlSSELL had to overcome interference. THE SQUIRE showed good speed, but tired badly during the stretch racing. CONFIDENTIAL raced well for three-quarters before tiring. GLEE showed a good effort.
