THORNCLIFFE PARK OPENING Scene of Toronto Racing Shifts Monday — Fifth Race Feature of Inaugural Card. TORONTO, Ont., May 25.— Local racing enters upon its second week at the popular Thorncliffe track Monday afternoon, with a most favorable outlook. The same class of horses that took part in the Woodbine sport will be available for the meeting and there are more than enough to furnish big fields in all races. The program book does not boast the large number of rich fixtures that adorned the programs throughout the weeks racing just concluded at Woodbine Park, but the races are fashioned to have a more general appeal to horsemen and this more open competition always in evidence at Thorncliffe, has an appeal of its own not only for the owners, but also for the public. The Thorncliffe purse, fifth on the program. Is offered as the feature for the inaugural. It is for three-year-olds and over, with a purse of ,500 attached, and it has attracted a well-match field of seven from the better class platers. ■ ■ •
