MOTHERS CHOICE liked the going and, showing the most speed, raced into a long lead, tired in the stretch but, under good riding, easily lasted to hold JOOSE STEP safe. The latter raced close up, came fast in the stretch and gained on the leaders. EMERYVILLE began fast, showed good speed to the stretch, but tired. MY LAVA was outrun in the early stages, hut gained in the final quarter. THISTLH JOHN tired, as did BARONNE. S. J. GILLFILLAN and PATTI LOUISE were always far back. AT POST— 1 minute. Start bad and slew. Won diivint; second and third the same. ESSIE, far back and outpaced for the first half mile, came to the outside in the stretch rapidly, wore down the tiring leaders and got up to outfinish THUNDER CALL. The latter had the best of the start and raced away into a long lead to the stretch, but tired and was unable to withstand the winner. CHRIS. PASCHEN closed a big gap from a poor beginning. ONCORA also began poorly and gained ground. CHARMING LADY tired in the last eighth. ANNA BEALL. uway poorly, showed speed and raced her way to the leaders in the stretch, but tired badly. MILES PRIOR, a forward contender from the start, gained gradually and, taking the lead in the stretch, held it to the end, but was guided wide continuously in the last eighth, deliberately carrying out SANDY LADY and was disqualified for fouling. SANDY LADY came on the outside in the stretch into a brief lead, but was carried wide by MILES PRIOR and her rider was forced to take up repeatedly, particularly in the final few yards. FRIGHTFUL ran well and took the lead on the far turn but tired in the stretch. REVOLVER showed early speed, but was made too much use of in the first three-eighths and tiied. FILM, outpaced to the stretch, came fast on the insitle, wore down the others and out-gamed PHOTOGRAPH. The latt.-r moved up entering the stretch and tired in the final drive. HARPOON raced on the inside, saving much ground and gamely outfinished the remainder. TOUCHER closed a big gap in the final quarter and finished gamely. SLY POLLY failed to respond to hard riding in the stretch and tired. HALF PINT was done in the stretch. ATOI, always a contender, raced with the leaders to the stretch turn and then coming fast on the outside, took the lead from ANGELENA and held sway to the end. ANGELENA set a good pace for three-quarters, then tired, but held on well. BOURBON gained gradually, ran a good race and outstayed FRANK FULLEN. The latter began slowly and was taken up repeatedly when in close quarters. ISOARD was raced into defeat on the back stretch and tired. Overweight — Angelena, 1 pound.
