FOALS BY BROOMS HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., April 14. The first crop of foals by the young stallion Brooms is arriving at Kenneth Gilpins farm, Boyce, Va. There is a filly from Meride, an imported Roi Herode mare. There is a colt also an individual of impressive conformation. Brooms is a son of Hastings Sis Martin. He was one of the highest paid yearlings of his year. His most notable racing achievement was winning the Hopeful at Saratoga. Last year was his first season in the stud and five mares were sent to his court. Two of them have already foaled, and the oilier three are due in a short time.
