BEULAH PARK FILLING UP Horses Arriving Hourly at Columbus for Sixteen Day Meeting Opening April 19. COLUMBUS, Ohio, April 14. The thoroughbred colony now located at Beulah Park is being augmented daily by the arrival of horses from other points. At this time there are more than two hundred and fifty horses already on the grounds, while horse cars and vans are arriving hourly. General manager Harry D. Shepard states that he will have a far better class of race horses for the spring meeting, which begins April 19 and continues to May 10, than ever before. He further states the Beulah Park Jockey Club office is being swamped with requests for stalls from horsemen now racing at other points. It has been impossible to fill all the requests for stalls and many have been- turned away. Mr. Shepard extends his regrets to all who have been denied stalls as it was simply impossible to get 1,500 horses into G50 stalls. The following list of owners who wired from Wheeling for stalls and have been allotted space are H. W. Brown, Leo Clous, Aldrich and Winans, Carl Drake, E. A. Schwert, L. A. Daly, James Bronnenburg, W. A. McKinney, George Jenkins, J. R. Car-lock and R. J. Ferris. John Money is here with A. P. Canale, a fast horse over a short distance. H. Torriente will send Andresito after the sprint, races. This horse raced well during the winter at Havana, where he graced the winners ring many times. Of course Lord Valentine is already well known as a winner at Beulah Park during former meetings and especially over muddy tracks. Hotel lobbies and street corners are crowded with horsemen all awaiting the opening. At the track there is the hustle and bustle of painters, carpenters, truckmen, electricians and other mechanics needed to get the plant ready and spruced up for the opening clay.
