LADY LE BAND, close up in the early racing, was tiring at the end and doing her best to save third. THEO. FAY gained steadily while racing on the outside of the others throughout. AVINSOME showed a fair performance. The others were outrun. ROYAL BELLS slipped through next to the inner rail on the first turn. displayed good speed and held second place safe at the end. J. J. BAMBRICK raced forwardly all the way and outgamed PLATOON. The latter had no excuses and tired in the final drive.. LUCKY DRIFT finished fast. OUR GAINS, caught in a jam on the first turn, fell and broke his back and was destroyed. MALCOLM closed much ground from a slow start and finished fast in the stretch. BEAU ASPIN, a factor throughout, outstayed DOC CONNER in the final drive. The latter tired. LAST CHARGE was crowded back rounding the second turn, which mined his chances. TIIELMA L. dropped out of contention suddenly after going well in the first half mile.
