FOAL AT FAIRMOUNT PARK Filly by Ormont Lady Fanchon Born at Collinsville Track. Big Shipment of Itaccrs Arrive From New Orleans Special Train to Leave Maryland Sunday. COLLINSVILLE, 111.. April 21. A chestnut filly by Ormont Lady Fanchon was foaled here at Fairmount Park Wednesday morning, the property of Ed,McCuan, local owner, who has several good horses here under his charge, including Flag Bearer, Germaine Chauvelot and others. Ormont is by Rock View, and the latter by Meddler, leading sire of 1902. The filly will carry the name of Miss Fairmount, taking the feminine from her dam and the Mont from the sire, with "Fair" added. Other offspring by Ormont which will race at Fairmount during the coming forty-nine-day meeting are Ormoboy, Ormonbird and Ormonita. A special train will leave Maryland on Sunday, which will include the charge of W. J. Potter, Mobile horseman, and Charles Graffagnini of New Orleans. In the shipment will be such good horses as Bocaratone, Genuine, Virado, Whileaway, Malolo and others. Mrs. L. M. Holmes stable of twenty racers was unloaded at Fairmount Wednesday morning, the shipment coming from Jefferson Park. In the same car were four racers for J. L. Paul, headed by Reveille Boy, a Derby candidate. Five horses of M. J. "Frenchy" Beauchamp in the shipment went on to Aurora. Hotels here are bidding for the horse business, with the Jefferson being the principal or "paddock" for most of the horsemen. The Majestic, Mark Twain and Broadview are making exceptionally low rates to the visitors. Local owners of hurdle or steeplechase horses are endeavoring to interest general manager Robert S. Eddy, Jr., in a hurdle race to be run during the Fairmount meeting.
