S ? ELECTED PRESIDENT OF HORSE ASSOCIATION s LEXINGTON, Ky., April 24. James P. Edwards, prominent jurist of Louisville and master of Cardinal Hills Farm, one of the outstanding thoroughbred nurseries of Jefferson County, was named to succeed Charles E. Marvin of this city, as president of the Thoroughbred Horse Association at an election of officers here last night. Edwards election by the board of directors was unanimous and immensely popular with the two score members who attended the meeting. A. B. Letellier, of New Orleans, was re-elected to the office of vice-president and Fred Forsythe, reengaged secretary. R. J. Nash, T. P. Hayes and W. E. Hupp were- re-elected as directors for a term of. three years each, while Mr. Edwards succeeded G. R. Bryson to serve for a like term and L. J. Marks was elected to succeed W. E. Caskey, Jr., who resigned. Mr. Marks will serve for one year. In brief remarks to the membership, following his election, Mr. Edwards said : "Starting tonight this organization has no grudge against any one and a feeling of good will towards all is to prevail at all times. This organization is pledged to protect the interests of breeders, owners and racing associations, and shall do so to the utmost of its ability and resources." It was announced that a meeting of the organization will be held at Louisville during the coming Churchill Downs meeting.
