REGISTRATIONS AT AURORA Secretarys Office Crowded by Turfmen Listing Horses for Meeting Near at Hand. AURORA, 111., April 25. With the opening of the secretarys office at Exposition Park this morning, the Fox River Valley course became a scene of much activity. Horsemen crowded through the portals anxious to register their steeds and the staff of officials and clerks in attendance were kept busy throughout the day. Over 400 head of horses were checked in during the forenoon and the number was increased to 500 by nightfall. Condition books for the first seven days of the meeting were eagerly sought by the owners and trainers. The racing secretary has some attractive programs carded and races suitable to all classes of horses appear on the. list. The Inaugural Handicap, at six furlongs, will be the outstanding attraction on the opening days program, while a purse race or overnight handicap will be featured on the card each day. Francis P. Dunne and Arthur Blanchard were the latest of the official family to arrive. Dunne, who serves as clerk of the scales, got in from Agua Caliente, where he acted, in an official capacity throughout the winter, while Blanchard came from his home in New Orleans. Blanchard will double as paddock judge and entry clerk. Apprentice G. T. Harris, who has shown signs of promise, was an addition to the jockey colony. Harris, upon his arrival reported to Frank Farrar, for whom he will ride during the Chicago season. General manager Cliff Trimble looks for a banner meeting. Reservations for boxes have far outnumbered that of previous years, and he points to that fact as a sign that the coming session is creating more interest than any since the track has been in existence. With a favorable break in the weather, attendance records will be badly shattered, Trimble predicts.
