If NEW YORK TURF NOTES :s NEW YORK, N. Y April 25. With Earl Sande in the saddle, Gallant Fox, the Belair Studs candidate for the Wood Memorial, was given an opener before the running of the first race today. In company with Ferrule, he galloped along a half mile under steady restraint in :53. Vander Pool, the unbeaten two-year-old, accompanied by other members of the stable, arrived at Belmont Park yesterday. Trainer "Pull" McDaniel stated that the colt was in splendid condition. The Meadow Lawn Stable arrived at Jamaica from Havre de Grace. P. B. Codd claimed Seabright out of the fourth race Friday for ,500. ; .
