The first six furlongs were covered in :25, :5iys. 1:16, where All Upset pulled up in 1:17 and My Hobby took up the running for the last half with Playtime, turning the half in :52. Trainer Letellier timed Playtime his mile in 1:42, mile and one-eighth in 1:55, ;while the dockers caught his mile in 1:42 and mile and one-eighth in 1:56, after which he was galloping to the mile and one-quarter pole. The track was in excellent condition for work this morning and while there was a tinge of cold in the air, the weather overhead was fine. Trainer Partridge took the Valley Lake stables Derby candidate, High Foot out for a sharp brush at three-eighths, the handsome chestnut negotiating the distance in :35. This was in the nature of an opening up breeze for the Derby favorite for a more ambitious move Saturday. Trainer C. N. Lewis hooked his Derby candidate Devlin up with the older horse Suitor from the barn of E. J. Lesman and the pair worked a mile in 1:47. Billy Champ, the Warm stables representative in the classic was sent three furlongs in the set composed of himself, Cady Hill and The Nut, in :38, by trainer J. T. Taylor.
