PARADISE LOST raced evenly. SURTESS and LADY ALLBY had no mishaps. IRISH HOLIDAY quit badly. SIXTY wheeled at the start. CRACK BRIGADE was rushed into command after the start, showed good speed, saved ground on the turns and held on well under pressure in the final drive. DESERT LIGHT, on the outside of the leaders on the first turn, was rated along steadily, moved up when called upon and finished resolutely. GOLD BROOK was in close quarters on the lower turn, was pinched back when straightened out on the hack stretch, but could not recover thereafter.
