STAR FLAY had good speed from the start, saved ground and, drawing away in the stretch, won easily. SIMON KENTON, close up under hard riding, tired slightly near the end, but outstayed SCOTLAND. The latter, away slowly and in close quarters, was far back for half a mile, but finished witli a rush on the extreme outside. MARYS TOY worked her way up gradually and ran a good race. DA VINCI saved much ground. MRS. FOSTER lost much ground throughout, swerved repeatedly in the stretcli and tired near the end. HOT TIME quit. IIAM1TLON had early speed. IRFANEH met interference. The latter lost considerable ground, but finished fast. DEVON began slowly. SANDY SHORE was done after three-quarters. BUSY, away slowly and taken back repeatedly under a timid ride, failed to respond when taken to the extreme outside on the second turn and was eased up nead the end. SYDNEY suffered interference from DICK OlIARE on the first turn, raced prominently under restraint for three-quarters, then finished gamely to outstay DEDICATE. The latter forced the early pace, experienced difficulty holding RAY BLADES safe and tired in the final sixteenth. RAY BLADES had fine early speed and only tired after going seven-eighths. DEMON, taken across sharply in the first eighth, showed good speed for seven-eighths, but tired thereafter. ALCMAN raced wide. LITTLE SCOUT dropped far out of it and could not reach contention.
