BLACKSMITHS BACK AT WORK COLLINSVILLE III May 19 Blacksmiths at Fairmount Park who have been on strike for the past ten days were back at work today as a result of the petition circulated among the horsemen horsemenPrior Prior to the opening of the Fairmount meeting the question arose as to the eligi ¬ bility of a plater named A Lamareux to shoe horses on the grounds he not being a member of the blacksmiths organization He was willing to join but for some reason they refused to accept him himThe The blacksmiths refused to shoe any horses while this man was allowed to work So the members of the Thoroughbred Horse Asso ¬ ciation voted to petition the owners as to their attitude in the matter with a result it terminated in an overwhelming majority for the popular Lamareux The final vote was 53 to 5 in his favor favorIt It was said Lamareux is well qualified for the work and the grievance which created the trouble was a personal one
