BY PASS II. came through between TANSY and THUNDER KING turning out of the back stretch and drew away into a long lead on the far turn. TANSY, on the outside of THUNDER KING all the way, lost ground at the head of the stretch, where she made a wide turn. DARKSINI, blocked when he attempted to come through next to the rail on the turn out of the back stretch, could not get up. FAIR SUN tired. GENERAL LEJEUNE worked his way up on the outside of the leaders and drew away after passing the three eighths post. HAGGERSON, outrun to the head of the stretch, tired after disposing of HOMETIME and just lasted long enough to withstand GENERAL COURT. The latter closed a big gap and finished resolutely. HOMETIME and DRESS DOLL tired. LOUTS O. did not fancy the going, as he appeared unable to get going. ANCODA, taken to the outside on the back stretch, gradually improved his position and took the lead with a rush entering the stretch, but tired in the last sixteenth and just lasted long enough to withstand a bold challenge from NOBLE SIR. The latter, taken back off the pace on the back stretch, moved up on the inside on the turn into the stretch and was gradually wearing down the winner. ANNAPOLIS, taken back off the pace, raced under restraint until the turn of the field, then finished courageously and shook off ihe others after taking the last fence. PRINCESS CLOVELLY was taken into the lead going to the twelfth jump, but tired. HETMAN, rated along under restraint, jumped well, and, challenging gamely going to the fifteenth jump, was tiring in the last eighth. LE DIGARD raced along in the middle of the course throughout. TOD SLOAN jumped well and showed a lot of speed until the last time around, falling at the seventeenth jump, but was remounted and finished. CERVENA KREV fell at the first jump and BRIGUEIL ran out at the fifth. BILLYCOCK pulled up at the eighteenth fence and REVOLVER and CHIEF JAMES fell at the ninteenth jump. HOBNOB outran the others from the start, but tired when DARK SEEKER overtook him at the head of the stretch and, coming again when straightened out, wore down DARK SEEKER and won going away. The latter moved up with a rush on the far turn and looked to have the winner beaten at the eighth post, but tired when hard ridden. LADINO, a factor throughout, tired. SILVER SCEPTER, rated close up, was blocked when attempting to go through on the inside at the three-eighths post, then came around GUILFORD to take a brief lead, then tired. GUILFORD showed good early speed, saved ground and held on well. INTREPID had no excuses. VILLAGER tired after challenging on the far turn. MY SCOOP pulled up lame.
