BOYLE SUCCEEDS FARRELL New Officials Elected by Southern Maryland Agricultural Association, Operators of Bowie. BALTIMORE, Md., May 7.— Joseph B. Boyle has been made general manager of the Bowie track, succeeding Joseph A. Far-rell, and the latter becomes vice-president of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association, which conducts Bowie racing. John Farrell, brother of Joseph Farrell, will be succeeded by Thomas K. Lynch, widely known turf writer, as assistant general manager and treasurer if the latter will accept. This was a compromise of a delicate situation which was reached at the annual election of officers and directors held in Marlborough. The affairs of the association have been somewhat complicated since last January. Efforts had been made by James OHara and Mrs. Matilda Bryan, it is alleged, to remove the Farrell brothers. Other complications are possible, as John Farrells attorney has threatened legal action to keep him in office.
