WASHINGTON PARK READY General manager Hay, in his daily trips to Washington Park, is seeing to it that the great plant is being placed in perfect physical condition for the inaugural of the season. Every stable is in readiness for the reception of racers. Carpenters have completed repairs and inspection under the guidance of Tom Young, track superintendent. As a precautionary measure every nook and corner has been disinfected. The drainage system has been improved with the result that the track is faster and safer than in the past. Many horses are turning in speedy trials over the quarter and half-mile distances. The receipt of a telegram from Clyde Phillips directed the reservation of fifteen stalls for the horses owned by William Ziegler, Jr., owner of Meadowbrook Stable. Among the horses to be sent here will be Red Diamond, Witeon, Desert Sun, Sunny Lassie and Miss Corinne. Sunny Lassie, a filly, by Sun Flag— Scotland Yet, is an American Derby eligible. Meadowbrook Farm horses are well engaged in Washington Park features.
