JAMAICA TURF NOTES I $, — -— — 4 NEW YORK, N. Y., May 7. Sammy Greenfield will ship to Bainbridge Park Sunday and has room in his car for several other horses. Harry Rogers, for many years associated with the Everglades Club at Palm Beach, is at the Mid wood Sanitarium, Brooklyn, suffering from a broken hip. He expressed a wish to receive visits from his friends. Donald Smith, under call to A. J. Joyner, accepted his first mount Wednesday when he rode Haloed in the first race. Trainer T. J. Healy of the C. V. Whitney stable left for Pimlico. Three carloads of horses owned by E. R. Bradley arrived at Belmont Park Wednesday in charge of Chappie Hastings. Trainer Thompson will remain at Louisville with the Derby candidates and then ship to Belmont Park. Before the running of the first race, trainer Bill Knapp worked Risque and Valenciennes, owned by Mrs. J. D. Hertz. The two were brought over from Belmont Park. Risque went a half in : 47, while Valenciennes was timed in :48. J. T. Kermath left for Baltimore to saddle Princess Cloverely in the Billy Barton Steeplechase. Trainer W. OConnor has decided to turn out L. B. Carbones Era at J. Russells Long Island farm for the summer. T. J. Healey returned from Pimlico after witnessing Equipoises public trial. He will return to Baltimore Saturday morning. Tommy Gorman, of the Connaught Jockey Club, was an arrival from Ottawa to interest horsemen in the summer meetings at that point. Trainer Kearns stated that the two-year-olds owned by J. P. White are recovering from bucked shins and will be seen under colors at Belmont Park. Jockeys L. McAtee and P. Walls leave for Baltimore tonight to ride in the Preakness. Spanish Bonero was claimed out of the sixth race Wednesday by D. E. Stanleigh, from Miss Minnie Walker for ,250. Trainer Bennet Creech stated that he would work Polydorus at Belmont Park today, and would decide whether to ship for the Derby or not. C. R. Fleischmann has decided to ship his stable to Bainbridge Park for that meeting. W. L. Brodie, W. J. Norton, with the Eastland Farm Stable, Jack Whyte, with the W. S. Kilmer division and James Boden are shipping to Toronto for the Canadian racing. James Marra, one of starter Cassidy*s crew, was called back to his home at Sheepshead Bay when word was received that his ninety-two-year-old mother had died at her home.
