I PIMLICO TURF NOTES f ยง and BALTIMORE, Md., May 7. Jockey D. Brice was fined 0 for unnecessary abuse of his horse in the fifth race Wednesday. Jack Pryce returns to Belmont Park with the horses he has at Pimlico for Walter J. Salmon. It is possible that a division of the stable may be sent to Toronto. Thomas J. Healy, who returned to New York after witnessing Equipoise trial yesterday, will be back for the Preakness. There will be no steeplechase on Saturday, and the infield will be thrown open for the overflow from the grand stand. Among the out of town correspondents already on hand to report the Preakness are Jim Snodgrass, Henry W. King, Jack Fitzgerald, Buck McBeth and George H. Krehbiel. Edward S. Welter, one of Jim Miltons assistants, will do the starting at the Hagerstown meeting. He will be on hand Monday morning to scale horses from 8 to 10 a. m. Welter will have as assistants Bob Freund, Bill Schamerhorn and J. E. Ally. The starts will be made from the Waite gate. J. P. Jones came over from New York to saddle Annapolis for the Billy Barton Steeplechase. The veteran W. Obert departed for Toronto this morning. Obert plans to ride as a free-lance in Canadian circuits during the summer. Dr. J. Adams plans to rest his horses up at Pimlico for a couple of weeks before shipping to Belmont Park. There is a report that jockey Eaby may join forces with the Seagram stable. Eaby recently severed his connection with the George D. Widener stable. John Bosley leaves for Thorncliffe Sunday morning with a carload of horses.
