PRECIOUS ANN, suited by the going and quick to begin, drew clear in the first eighth and, holding on. well, withstood SUPREME LADY. The latter, outrun in the first quarter, closed with a rush. SPANISH FLIRT saved ground, but raced in the worst going and tired after moving up boldly on the inside on the stretch turn. SHAKER LADY raced well. ANITA ORMONT showed speed and raced evenly after dropping back on the stretch turn. WISE TALK began slowly and was forced back when STAR DANCER fell. STAR DANCER was racing in third place when he fractured the left leg near the shoulder and fell. ROY was outrun to the final eighth, then rallied. PATRICIA MARIAN was outrun. GALLANT KNIGHT raced wide and tired badly after racing forwardlv to the stretch turn. SAN PRESTO, much the best, improved his position slowly and easily wore down the leaders, drawing away fast at the end. HALF DAY showed speed from the start and held on fairly well. GETTIN EVEN, taken into a long lead and well ridden, tired after three-quarters. WEE DROP swerved badly in the stretch. UPSWEEP began slowly and was forced to the inside by WEE DROP in the stretch. The latter raced close up on the outside, then tired. PORT O PLAY, forced into the deep inner part of the track most of the way, could not get up. SARCASTIC quit. CORAL BEACH dropped out of it after going a quarter and appeared to sulk.
