AGUA CALIENTE RE-OPENS TODAY 1 New Years Handicap and Junior Mile Purse Head Program Marking Resumption of Racing at Border Course AGUA CALD3NTE, Mexico, Dec. 31. The Agua Caliente Jockey Club re-opens tomorrow1 with promise of a fast, track and two bright feature events headlining a high class card. These are the Winter Junior Mile, for three-year-olds, the age of all horses turning one year tomorrow, and the New Years Handicap, at one mile and a sixteenth. In the Winter Junior Mile, six good youngsters were entered by their owners to start. The New Years Handicap has drawn the best of the handicap division. Marine, champion of Canada, makes his western bow under 120 pounds, while Reveille Boy, American Derby winner, also is scheduled to start. In all six accepted handicapper Campbells weights for the affair. The appearance of Marine and Reveille Boy under colors will be of great interest to western turf goers, as both came to Agua Caliente to train for the Agua Caliente Handicap. Marine will be ridden .by Louie Schaefer, New York pilot, while Steve ODonnell, who rode Mike Hall to victory in the last As:ua Caliente Handicap, will be astride Reveille Boy. ODon nell returns to the saddle after a long idleness caused by an attack of pneumonia suffered last summer. ODonnell has given a call on his services to James A. Best and may yhandle Reveille soy in the seasons classic. Opposed to Reveille Boy and Marine in the New Years Handicap will be the rogue McGonigle, outstanding stayer shown under colors here to date; Seths Hope, winner of the San Francisco Handicap, Seths Pride and Good and Hot.
