WEIGHTS PUBLICATION LATER Assignments for Agua Caliente Handicap Eligibles Locked Until All Heard From. AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, Jan. 6. Weights for the Agua Caliente Handicap, to be run on March 20, were placed in an envelope and sealed and deposited in the Jockey Club safe where they will remain until all nominators of horses for the stake have been heard from. Jack Campbell made the weights. They were due for publication today. Owing to the change in conditions for the race, making it necessary for letters to be sent to all owners with eligibles, the list of poundages will not be disclosed for ten days or more. In the meantime owners may run Agua Caliente Handicap contenders with full assurance that what they do in the next fortnight will not figure against them. "The weights are on hand and will not be changed," said racing secretary Francis Dunne today. "They were placed in a safe deposit vault after being sealed today and will not be seen or touched by anyone until time comes to announce them. We are doing this so that horsemen may feel free to race their horses as they see fit."
