NEW FUTURITY NOMINATORS Baron Rothschild, and English Owner May Be Patrons of Stakes in 1933. NEW YORK, N.-T., Jan. 6. Nominations are coining in rapidly for the 1934 runnings of the Futurity and Matron Stakes, Victor E. Schaumburg, secretary of the Westchester Racing Association, announced Wednesday and he expects the totals for the two Belmont Park events to compare favorably with the entries for the 1933 renewals of these juvenile events. Nominations will close January 2. Quite a number of newcomers are noted on the list of nominators, Including Baron Rothschild of France, and H. N. Shaw of England, who named the produce of two mares. Others were Dr. J. R. Hylton, of Douglas, Wyoming; Mrs. John J. Raskob, wife of the Democratic leader, and Mrs. H. W. Sage. Schaumburg also pointed out that the Futurity distance will be six and one-half furlongs, instead of six and three-fourths furlongs, as formerly. Breeders and horsemen also are paying attention to the second payments on nominations for the Arlington Futurity and Lassie Stakes, which are due at the offices of the Arlington Park Jockey Club by January 4 and nominations for the 1934 Pimlico Futurity and the stakes to be run at the 1932 spring meeting at Pimlico, which are due at the Baltimore offices of the Maryland Jockey Club by January 11.
