BLIGHTER, suited by the going and away fast, raced under restraint to the stretch, where he easily wore down BERNICE VAN, swerved sharply to the inside when clear in the final eighth and came away fast in the last fifty yards. GENEROLA, always a strong factor, closed resolutely and headed BERNICE VAN in the final strides. The latter, given a hustling ride, saved ground racing into a good lead readily, gave way to the winner, but held on fairly well thereafter and just failed to outstay GENEROLA. BILL LUTZ saved ground almost throughout. BUNYORA had no excuses. BELL O SCOTLAND tired and the effort may benefit her. BEIGE, quick to get going, took a short lead under restraint, slowly drew clear after straightening out in the stretch, where he was brought to the outside and was not threatened in the late stages. ARISTOCRAT began sluggishly, but gave improved speed after reaching the final three-sixteenths and, closing much ground, headed NIGHT CRY in the closing strides. The latter began very slowly, saved ground while improving his position and faltered in the concluding strides. CHRIS. PASCHEN raced wide throughout, was under slight restraint for a half mile and weakened after making a weak bid in the stretch. TAT had early speed. STUPENDOUS was unable to get up. PLAY BIRD, improved, was rated under strong restraint for a half mile, quickly raced into decisive command at the second turn and dominated thereafter. FLYING WINGS, slow to get going, saved much ground the final half mile and weakened after moving up boldly approaching the final eighth, yet outstayed the others. DON T. had speed from the start, dropped back when racing wide into the stretch and came again mildly near the end. NERVATOR closed with a rush. AREGAL, far back early, closed some ground at the stretch turn, but faltered in the final drive. HARPOON quit under vigorous pressure. BROAD AXE was done after three-quarters. PATTIE KATE had speed for three-quarters. DIODORO tired badly. BRIGHT KNOT, having speed, was inclined to loaf after drawing clear approaching the far turn, withstood strong bids from CHARLIE BILLS and SCANDAL SHEET entering the stretch and, shaking off the latter in the final eighth, won under strong urging. SCANDAL SHEET began fast, saved ground throughout and weakened in the last seventy yards. CHARLIE BILLS, slightly restrained early, moved up boldly entering the stretch, but weakened while racing wide thereafter. JORGHENSEN was through after a half mile. XADY MARSCH, lucky at the first turn and taken under restraint ttfter a quarter, improved her position slowly under a well judged ride and, drawing clear in the final eighth, held TRAUMEL safe. The latter, probably best and crowded back in the run to the first turn, worked his way up gradually, was blocked when trying to get through on the inside in the stretch and closed fast when clear in the last sixteenth. ANNE ARUNDEL had good speed, saved ground and weakened under her impost in the stretch run. PEACE LADY showed a good effort. GERTRUDE READE lucked her usual late speed. ELEANORA M. quit. OH YEAH ran out badly after the second turn. JOAN PAT, outrun the first five-eighths, closed ground thereafter and was going strongest of all in the final stages. ROCKY WAY, under restraint early, moved up .on the inside in the stretch, but weakened near the end. LADS RUN had no mishaps. VIOLA STINSON was cut off when going well on the inside at the stretch turn. WISE SUSAN was always far back. AGNES SOREL had speed under energetic riding for three-quarters, then weakened.
