THREE PROMISING YOUNGSTERS Andrew Walker Well JTortified With Likely Two -Year-Olds Racers Successful Trader. NEW YORK, N. Y., Jan. 6. Andrew Walker, whose creed in developing horses is to buy them cheaply and to sell them to the first bidder who offers a fair price, has three promising juveniles wintering at Aqueduct. Walker may be remembered as the horseman who developed Chatford and sold him for a reported price of 518,000 and who is said to have received 0,000 for King David. A bay or brown son of Apex, from the useful dam Fading Star, is one of Walkers good prospects. This fellow is short coupled, with large shoulders and quarters. He is well mannered and has a good way of going about his exercises around the barn. The other colt is a chestnut son of Chatter-ton and Subterfuge. This well built youngster has great depth through the heart and has a large girth. He stands about fourteen and a half hands high and is a level headed fellow. He goes about his daily tasks in a business-like way. A bay filly by Happy Argo and Alvores completes Walkers present holdings. This filly is one of the first crop of that great weight carrying sprinter that raced a couple of years ago for the Kershaw stable and was trained by Max Hirsch. In color and conformation she resembles her sire. She is built on racy lines with low withers and high quarters. She has a smart looking head, set on a well formed neck. Her legs are well shaped and she has a smooth way of going while taking her exercise around the barn. If general appearances are a criterion, this filly should more thannav her way next season. HH
