FALL MEETING AT FAIRMOUNT General Manager Eddy States Dates for Collinsville Course Will Be Announced in Due Time. NEW ORLEANS, La., Jan. 26. The Fair-mount Park Jockey Club, operating Fair-mount Park, near Collinsville, 111., today announced, through its general manager, R. S. Eddy, Jr., that under present plans, no spring or summer racing would be held at that track this year, but that the course would open for a fall meeting, dates for which will be announced in due time. In deciding against spring and summer operation, owners of Fairmount Park had in mind present conditions, also the burden of taxation, both of which may be more propitious for the operation of Fairmount Park in the fall, general manager Eddy stated. A meeting, remarkable for attendance, was held at Fairmount Park under Mr. Eddys direction last fall and a comparison of attendance figures for that meeting with those of spring or early summer meetings held there annually for several years, indicates greater St. Louis is very much inclined to favor autumn racing.
