MAGNIFICENT RACING RELIC MIAMI, Fla., Jan. 27. A magnificent relic of English racing of more than a half century ago, atracted the admiration of club house visitors at Hialeah Park. It was the last silver Ascot Cup, presented at the most venerable and venerated of English race, courses in 1878 to Count F. De La Grange whose Verneuil,- ridden by J. Goater, de f eated Lord Falmouths Lady Golightly, with Fred Archer up, by ten lengths. This Elizabethan vase is made from 1,272 ounces of silver ornately designed in bas relief with tableaux depicting important sports and historical incidents in the Queen Elizabeth period. It was made by Messrs. Garrard, silversmiths of Haymarket, in 1877. It was the last silver trophy presented for the event, as since 1878, a gold cup has gone to the winning owner. The vase was placed oa exhibition through the courtesy of John Ai :Stewart, of Burdines, Inc., Miami, who planned and executed the furnishing of the Hialeah Park club house
