" r 1 HAWTHORNE PRESIDENT JOHN C. SCHANK. ELECT HAWTHORNE OFFICIALS John Schank President of Chicago Business Mens Racing Association for Sixth Time. John C. Schank, one of the most popular sportsmen in Illinois, was re-elected president of the Chicago Business Mens Racing Association for the sixth consecutive time at the annual meeting of the association in its offices on East Congress Street, Tuesday. Mr. Schanks re-election means that along with Joseph A. Murphy, who was again elected vice-president and general manager of Hawthorne, he is the oldest turf association official in point of continuity of service in the state. Albert Sabath was re-elected vice-president, Charles Krutckoff, treasurer and Charles W. Bidwill retained his post as secretary of the organization, which operates the Stickney track, oldest on the Illinois circuit and a relic of the boom days of racing around Chicago in the late nineties and early 1900s. Joseph Foley was retained as publicity agent. In addition to the election of officers, the directors of the Chicago Business Mens Association discussed plans for the meeting of twenty-nine days, dates for which were allotted to Hawthorne at the annual meeting of the Illinois Turf Association Monday morning. .
